You Were Made for Pleasure
A call to the sensual, the creative, the unbound-because your pleasure was never meant to be silenced
Embracing Your Erotic Self…Pleasure is your birthright. Take it back.
By Jamie Azar, Certified Sex and Relationship Coach
So many of us carry a fear—not that we’re incapable, but of our deepest erotic power.
We silence ourselves. We hesitate. We doubt.
We shrink. We constrict.
We’ve been taught that pleasure isn’t ours.
That it doesn’t belong to us inherently.
That we don’t deserve it.
That we should feel ashamed of our power.
So we hide.
We repress.
While our rawest, most untamed, wildly beautiful erotic selves wait in a quiet limbo—longing to be seen,
To be reclaimed.
Here’s the thing.
So many of us have forgotten.
Because we’ve been attacked.
Violated.
Oppressed.
Dismissed.
Erased—
For being different.
For loving differently.
For living in fluidity,
In expansion,
In creativity.
For defying binaries and cis-heteronormative expectations.
But I’m here to remind you:
You have agency.
You have power.
You hold everything you need, everything you desire, within you.
You were born a sensual being.
Born to need touch,
Belonging,
Love.
And it’s time.
If you can’t give yourself permission—
I will.
You have agency and power
In your voice
To speak what you want,
And what you don’t.
To name what you need.
To dream the fantasies of your mind, your heart, your soul.
I give you permission to be a creative initiator in your intimate life—
Whether partnered or not.
Initiate a loving relationship with yourself.
Make time for care, for play, for touch.
Tune into your five senses.
They are the paths to your sensuality,
Your embodiment.
Initiate sex in your relationship—on your terms.
Who says you always have to be the object of someone else’s desire?
Who says you can’t invite someone into your world
On your own terms?
You were made to be erotic.
Creative.
Unbridled.
Your body is a portal to pleasure.
Do you listen when it calls for
Touch,
For sensation,
For your loving attention?
Here’s the beauty—if you’ve learned to shut down,
You can learn to turn on.
If you’ve learned to go quiet,
You can learn to express.
If you’ve learned to imagine the worst,
You can teach yourself to envision the best.
The path to erotic awakening, to expansive pleasure, isn’t linear.
It’s a journey, season after season of self—
Colored with curiosity, compassion, and devotion.
So take the risk.
Crack yourself open.
Reclaim your pleasure.
Embrace your erotic power.
It’s already yours.
